AyaBookings is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.


Our Commitment

We believe that everyone should have equal access to online booking services, regardless of their abilities or the devices they use. AyaBookings strives to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

  • Compatible with popular screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • Proper HTML semantic structure for easy navigation
  • Alternative text (alt text) for all images
  • Descriptive link text and button labels
  • ARIA labels where appropriate

Keyboard Navigation

  • Full functionality accessible via keyboard only
  • Logical tab order throughout the platform
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive elements

Visual Accessibility

  • High contrast color schemes for better readability

Multiple Communication Methods

  • SMS notifications for booking confirmations
  • Email notifications with accessible HTML formatting
  • Phone support for customers who need assistance
  • WhatsApp support available

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Current Status:

Perceivable: Information and user interface components are presentable to users in ways they can perceive

Operable: User interface components and navigation are operable

Understandable: Information and operation of the user interface are understandable

Robust: Content is robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents (in progress)

1. Online Booking

Our web platform is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and high contrast options.

2. USSD Booking (*928*88#)

No internet required! Simple text-based menu system accessible on any mobile phone.

3. Mobile Apps

Our iOS and Android apps follow platform-specific accessibility guidelines and work with native assistive technologies.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge some current limitations:

  • Some third-party payment gateway interfaces may have accessibility issues beyond our control
  • PDF receipts generated may not be fully screen-reader accessible (HTML email receipts are provided as an alternative)
  • Some advanced calendar features are still being optimized for screen reader users

We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all features.
