Clinic Booking App in Ghana
Most private clinics still start the morning the same way: a full waiting area, a receptionist with a register, and patients who arrived at 7am to be seen first. Some of them will wait three hours for a ten-minute review. AyaBookings gives a clinic in Spintex, Achimota, Dzorwulu, Takoradi or Bantama a simple appointment page. Patients choose the service, such as a general consultation, a follow-up visit, an antenatal review or a lab sample collection, and pick a time with the doctor or nurse who is on duty. Reception sees the day's list in the AyaBookings for Business app and can space patients out instead of letting everyone arrive at once. Patients get an SMS reminder before their slot, and those without data can book by USSD. The system is free to use: there is no fee on cash payments, and 5% applies only to payments made online with Mobile Money.
Why Ghana businesses choose AyaBookings
- Patients arrive spread across the morning instead of all at opening time, which eases pressure on your waiting area.
- Each doctor, nurse or specialist has their own schedule, so a review with the paediatrician is only offered on the days she consults.
- Automatic SMS reminders help patients remember follow-up visits that were booked weeks in advance.
- Customer records keep each patient's booking history, so reception can see when they were last in.
- Patients can pay for a consultation in cash at the desk or by Mobile Money online, whichever your clinic prefers.
How it works
-
1
Register the clinic with its address and consulting hours, including Saturday or evening sessions if you run them.
-
2
Add appointment types such as general consultation, review visit, antenatal visit, dental check, eye test or sample collection, with a sensible slot length for each.
-
3
Add your doctors, nurses and specialists and the days each one consults.
-
4
Share the booking link on your WhatsApp business profile and Google listing, and give patients your USSD code at the front desk.
-
5
Reception follows the booked list in the app and calls patients in appointment order.
Built for how you work in Ghana
- Clinics that see both booked and unbooked patients can set aside appointment slots while still treating people who walk in.
- Visiting specialists who come in once or twice a month can open bookings only for the days they are on site.
- Many patients do not have reliable data or smartphones, so USSD booking keeps the clinic reachable for them.
- A booking system is not a medical record; it holds appointment details and contact information, not clinical notes.
Simple pricing
Free to create your booking page. No monthly subscription. No fee on cash bookings. Pay only 5% when customers pay online with Mobile Money or card. Take deposits upfront when you need to secure a slot.
Customers can also book on USSD by dialling *928*88*{your business code}# after you enable your code.

Frequently asked questions
- Can patients choose which doctor they see?
- Yes, if you set it up that way. Each doctor or specialist is added with the services they offer and the days they consult. Patients can pick a named doctor or simply take the next available slot for that service.
- Does AyaBookings replace our patient records system?
- No. AyaBookings handles appointments, reminders and payments for bookings. It keeps contact details and booking history, but clinical notes and diagnoses stay in whatever records system your clinic already uses.
- How do patients without smartphones book?
- Through USSD. A patient keys in *928*88*{your business code}# on whatever handset they own, chooses the service and time from a short menu, and is added to the clinic's list. Reception can also read out numbered shortcuts for a particular service.
- Can we take payment before the consultation?
- You can. Ask for a MoMo deposit on services you want paid in advance, or leave it off and collect at the desk. Online payments carry a 5% fee; cash collected at the clinic does not.
- Will patients be reminded of their appointment?
- Yes. An automatic SMS reminder goes to the patient before the appointment, which helps with follow-ups and reviews booked far ahead.
- Can we still see unbooked patients?
- Yes. You decide which hours are open for booking. Many clinics keep part of the morning for booked appointments and see unbooked patients around them.
Spread your patients across the day and give reception a clear list instead of a crowded bench.
